Frequently asked questions

Motoring offence FAQs

Do I need a solicitor for a motoring offence?

Not always. Many offences are now dealt with online or by post. Many motorists simply need practical guidance and written mitigation (an explanation for the offence) to complete the online form. A professionally written plea in mitigation can have a significant impact on the penalty imposed by the court — and we can provide that for you.

Can you help if I intend to represent myself at court?

Yes. We regularly assist motorists who wish to plead guilty and present their own mitigation at court to keep their legal fees low. We'll provide a procedure guide and a written script tailored specifically to you and your circumstances.

Can you help nationwide?

Yes. We can provide online and written assistance, and court representation, wherever you are based in England & Wales.

Do you offer fixed fees?

Yes. Most of our driving offence services are provided on a fixed-fee basis agreed with you in advance. See our fees for details.

Can I get legal aid?

Legal aid is only available for serious driving offences in very limited circumstances. We do not represent clients under the Legal Aid scheme. If we think you may be eligible for legal aid, we will recommend that you consult a firm who can help you to apply for it. More on legal aid.

Please note: we do not deal with parking tickets or parking disputes.
